This artwork represents the beginning of the current 2020 decade, in the United States. It is symbolic of the events that have impacted the early 2020s.
At the center of the painting is Lady Liberty, giving birth to the new decade of 2020 amidst the Covid-19 global pandemic, and surrounded by death. Lady Liberty’s legs are wide open and hovering over the “midwives”...
And exactly who are the two “midwives”?
The midwives are the elephant on the right, and the donkey on your left, symbolizing the bipartisan political system. They're providing Lady Liberty with childbrith assistance during the labor, delivery, and the new birth of the nation.
On the center-right portion of the canvas, there is emergency personnel wearing yellow hazmat suits, carrying the dead bodies of the folks who lost their lives to the coronavirus.
On the center-left portion of the canvas, there are characters representing police officers, committing extrajudicial killings of African-American people, whose dead bodies are piling up at the bottom of the canvas -situation that kick-started the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in the United States.
On the upper-left portion of the canvas, Lady Liberty’s torch points to the unfortunate 2020 wildfires in California, which made history as the largest wildfire season in California’s modern history. Notice how “Hollywood” is spelled out as “Holywood”.
