Title: Interplanetary Telepathy

This artwork is part of my ongoing collection titled, “Entering the Hyperspace”, inspired by the work of American ethnobotanist and visionary, Terence McKenna. All artworks in this collection are titled after quotes and sayings taken from McKenna’s lectures. I’m inspired by McKenna’s exploration of dimensional realms, through the use of entheogens that  promote the expansion of consciousness.

In the context of Terence McKenna’s work, “Interplanetary Telepathy” is a poetic and speculative notion he used to describe the profound, non-verbal communication that he believed psychedelic substances—particularly DMT and psilocybin—could facilitate between human consciousness and non-human intelligences. He didn’t mean this strictly in a sci-fi sense (like radio signals to Mars), but more as a metaphor for accessing alien or otherworldly minds through inner exploration.
