This artwork is part of the series, “Love in the Time of Covid”, which was exhibited in Adams Morgan, Washington D.C. in February 2021.
The collection was inspired by conversations Dariana had with various people in her community. The titles of the artworks were directly taken from these conversations.
When viewed as a whole, the collection Love In The Time Of Covid, appears to the eye as a surreal collage that weaves individual experiences and desires, into a whole communal novella.
This painting was inspired by a conversation between the artist and one of her Adams Morgan neighbors, who during the covid quarantine became obsessed by a deep yearning for connection, intimacy, and the warmth of a loving relationship. This artwork is the abstract representation of that conversation.
