This artwork is part of the series, “Love in the Time of Covid”, which was exhibited in Adams Morgan, Washington D.C. in February 2021.
The collection was inspired by conversations Dariana had with various people in her community. The titles of the artworks were directly taken from these conversations.
When viewed as a whole, the collection Love In The Time Of Covid, appears to the eye as a surreal collage that weaves individual experiences and desires, into a whole communal novella.
This painting was inspired by a conversation about the so-called "sacred union" in the tantric tradition... The artist befriended a local tantra instructor and joined conversation circles (while social distancing), to discuss this ancient tradition and the idea of the harmonious integration of masculine and feminine energies, as a form of self-transformation.
