Title: The Ocean of Chaos

This artwork is part of my ongoing collection titled, “Entering the Hyperspace”, inspired by the work of American ethnobotanist and visionary, Terence McKenna. All artworks in this collection are titled after quotes and sayings taken from McKenna’s lectures. I’m inspired by McKenna’s exploration of dimensional realms, through the use of entheogens that promote the expansion of consciousness.

Terence McKenna’s notion of “an ocean of chaos” appears in his lectures as a vivid metaphor for the underlying state of reality when stripped of cultural conditioning, linguistic structure, and ego identity—particularly during psychedelic experiences. He used it to describe the raw, unfiltered flux of existence: a realm of pure potential, unpredictability, and transformation.
